OUR PROJECTS

Gazebo Area Restoration Project

Efforts to revitalize the gazebo area began in 2019. RAWW volunteers joined Weeping Water Garden Club for a day of cleanup and planting. They installed tulips and daffodils near the gazebo and began arranging the surface of a small reservoir. The bubbling rock feature was added, along with more electrical outlets at the space, which will allow city groups to hold small concerts, plays or speaking events.

In June 2022, Nebraska Main Street Network awarded RAWW with the Streetscape/Public Improvement Project Inspiring Excellence Award for their efforts on the gazebo project. The Inspiring Excellence Award recognizes businesses, individuals, projects and activities that contribute to the economic and social vibrancy of downtown business districts in communities throughout the state.

Elam's Landing

RAWW's most recently completed project is Elam's Landing fishing dock at the city lakes. Elam’s Landing is a 20-foot by 12-foot handicap-accessible fishing pier along the north edge of the east lake. It provides a safe, convenient handicap-accessible fishing dock for young and old alike. This new scenic attraction encourages outdoor activity and tourism to our beautiful campground and lakes. With the help of many volunteers and sponsors the project was a success and the dock was officially dedicated during the Party on the Rocks Fall Festival on September 23, 2022. In October 2022, RAWW was named the Hometown Pride winner by Farmers & Merchants Bank for their efforts with community projects including the new Elam's Landing dock.

Weeping Water Wall Calendar

Revitalization Association of Weeping Water (RAWW) is excited to announce that it will once again be publishing a full-color Weeping Water Calendar for 2024, to be available before the holidays. The calendars make great gifts for current and former Weeping Water and Cass County residents, and will again feature historical photos of the area. (If you’d like to contribute a historical photo, email suzyswede@gmail.com) Advertise your business, organization, services, or events on calendar pages, January 2024 through January 2025. Calendars will be sold online and locally through Meeske Hardware & Houseware stores. Proceeds from the calendar sales help fund RAWW’s community revitalization projects.
